Getting Started
Learn about the timelines and requirements of the WA State Clean Buildings Law for energy efficiency and what you’ll need to do to comply.

Energy Management Plan (EMP)
The EMP is a comprehensive report of your building’s energy management activities as outlined in Section 5 of the WA State law.

Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Program
The O&M Program includes clear and thorough maintenance plans for the major energy uses in a building and is outlined in Section 6 of the WA State law.

Energy Reporting & Targets
Buildings must benchmark and report energy use and meet energy performance criteria as outlined in Section 7 of the WA State law. Buildings can either meet an energy use intensity target (EUIt) or comply via the investment criteria pathway.

Emissions Reduction
Learn strategies to reduce climate-polluting greenhouse gas emissions (C02e) while becoming compliant with the WA State law and getting ready for proposed Seattle emissions standards.
